Transportation

Public Transportation … Within Miami County, Monday through Friday, 6am-6pm, call the YMCA by 2pm to make a reservation for the next day; one-way trip fares:  $1 per person within Peru city limits; $3 per person within 10 miles of Peru; $5 per person for the rest of Miami County.  Medical and employment trips receive priority in scheduling.  Riders should be ready 20 minutes before and after pick-up time.  In order to stay on schedule for all riders we will be unable to wait for a rider.  $12 and $24 coupon books are available at the YMCA front desk for $10 and $20 respectively.

Medicaid Transportation … For Miami County residents, within Indiana, Monday through Friday, reservations should be made two weeks in advance for out-of-county trips and one week in advance for within the county.

Senior Transportation … Within Miami County, Monday through Friday, senior citizens over 60 may call the YMCA by 2pm to make a reservation for the next day; same day service will be provided as vehicles are available.  Ride to the YMCA, grocery store, beauty shop, barber shop, visit a friend, or anywhere else in town.  Trips should be scheduled between 9am and 1:30pm, as medical and employment trips receive priority in scheduling.  As we transport people home from work in the afternoon, we may be delayed in picking up riders after 2:30pm.  Because drivers are not allowed to enter any building, you must bring someone with you if you need extra assistance.

Funding for the Senior Transportation program is provided by Area Five Council on Aging, United Way of Miami County, and the Miami County YMCA.  Senior donations are welcomed and appreciated
